Danny Carroll has been a busy gig-ing pianist. For 18 years he was one of the regular piano players at the Fort Garry Hotel, playing jazz standards and popular music. Danny has been band leader and/or Music Director for Dry Cold Productions, and many ‘Lawyers Shows’ for the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. He has served as rehearsal pianist and/or Music Director at Rainbow Stage and is inducted in the Rainbow Wall of Fame.
Danny has created soundscapes for film, corporate video and numerous theatre productions (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, and Winnipeg Jewish Theatre).
Danny loves to compose his own music, creating magical soundscapes with the piano, keyboards and electronics. He has recently released his album KEYS FOR TRANSFORMATION, a classical-crossover genre of relaxing, calming music focused on Grand piano melodies, with strings and some gentle electronics. Danny is affiliated with the Canadian label Enjou (formerly Little Symphony Records).
The Free Press says “Carroll has composed genre-blurring works that have elements of classical, new age, jazz and electronics .. from one life-affirming moment to the next.”
Danny has a Bachelor of Music (Composition) and Masters in Education degrees. He has taught sessional classes at the University of Manitoba and the Canadian Mennonite University.
