Renate Rossol is building community through her musical leadership in Winnipeg and abroad as a music director, pianist, vocal coach, adjudicator, and piano instructor. She holds a Master of Music (Collaborative Piano Performance) and Bachelor of Music (Solo Piano Performance and Music History) from the University of Manitoba, and an A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance. Renate also studied at the Vienna Conservatory from 2012-2013.
As a performer of solo, vocal, and instrumental repertoire, she has performed on stages in Austria, Canada, and the United States. Renate also works across Canada in musical theatre and opera as a music director and rehearsal pianist, and loves developing new works. She has music directed for Rainbow Stage (Ma-Buhay! Drafts 3 & 4), Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (Urinetown), Winnipeg Studio Theatre (Miss Shakespeare), Sick+Twisted Theatre (The Three-Penny Opera, Associate MD), Wasteland Productions (Evil Dead: The Musical), The All-Dentist Musical (The Addams Family, Bloodsuckers) Kitchen Party Theatre Festival (Newfoundland; Girls From Away, The Codfather), Secondary Characters Musical Theatre (British Columbia; The Last Five Years) and Dry Cold Productions (A Little Night Music, Apprentice MD). She has notably been in the pit for Rainbow Stage (Mary Poppins (keys 2); The Little Mermaid – (stand-by) keys 2; Ma-Buhay – (stand-by) keys 1 & 2), and Opera on the Avalon (Newfoundland; The Phantom of the Opera- keys 1 and rehearsal pianist).
